I. Portrayal★ This is a portrayal of Lucifer / Satan / the Devil. To avoid any confusion regarding the identity, these are the three personas I will rely on as I write. Being acknowledged by any other name associated with Lucifer beyond this may or may not be acknowledged.★ The portrayal is independent and composite. I will be collecting different interpretations from various literary pieces and religious references and enjoying creative freedom as I roleplay this character. Kindly note that whatever is written does not necessarily reflect personal beliefs and if you are confused or offended by my portrayal, I am happy to discuss it. Otherwise, you are free to move on and enjoy other portrayals.★ Lucifer will always perceive herself as superior regardless of her friendly demeanor and companion's abilities. If at any point she is provoked to the point of annoyance or hostility, please remember that muse does not convey the sentiment of the writer.★ As of the moment, my Lucifer has no affiliations with any Deadly Sin, demonic entity (ex. succubus/incubus, etc.), or any otherworldly being. Should any relevant muse approach, they will be treated as a separate entity that is divine kin or kin from Hell, but overall behavior will vary based on interaction. If there is any known relationship between them as per their writer’s lore, I am happy to accommodate if there is no conflict with my portrayal. If there is, I will choose to follow my own interpretation.★ If not interacting with personifications of sins, Lucifer will associate strongly with pride, greed, and envy. This does not mean she is acting as a personification, rather, it aligns with her overall personality of being power-hungry and confident.II.Shipping★ Currently not interested in shipping.★ Not interested in doing Lewd.III. Disclaimer★ NSFW themes are expected ; MDNI★ Writer and muse are 20+. Given the nature of this character, characters that are not of age will be treated appropriately so long as their writers are 18+.★ I do not own any art that is used on this account. ― **HISTORY **―
ㅤㅤㅤGod said, ❝let there be light.❞ㅤㅤㅤSo, Lucifer was born.ㅤㅤㅤIntroducing Lucifer, God's earliest creation as well as the first angel born out of His might. Before her fall, she was blessed with the title of 'Light Bearer' and henceforth became a primary source of light and of guidance. She was present during the Genesis period and served as a right-hand woman to the Almighty. During God's creative processes, Lucifer was nearby, often making suggestions that could further help beautify Earth, such as creating land animals to roam the Earth.ㅤㅤㅤDuring her time with God, she was given a taste of what it felt like to be superior. Over time, this inspired malign thoughts of ruling over God's creation. Initially, she tried to keep these thoughts at bay, largely because of fear and loyalty, but her patience wore thin when He assigned humans to establish dominion over His work instead of Lucifer, the one who came before them.ㅤㅤㅤAdam was kind and obedient, but he was simple and meek. He was like a doll lost in the majesty of Eden, out of place and an insignificant stain. Eve was radiant and beautiful, and although made inferior to Adam, Lucifer found likeness and it fettered jealousy. Not once did she ever approach them, but from observation alone, she knew that they could not compare to the Morning Star. In the depths of her being, she wholeheartedly believed that she was God’s perfect creation. She was meant to rule over Paradise, the home she had long lived in and cared for since its creation.ㅤㅤㅤTo win favor and gain dominance, she intended to unveil the imperfection of humankind. Lucifer fabricated a disguise assuming the appearance of a serpent, a beautiful, large, four-legged creature to deceive and lure the woman into consuming a forbidden fruit from the tree God forbade them to feed on. It's as the Bible says. Eve fell to the angel's tricks and convinced Adam into eating the fruit. The outcome revealed terrible consequences for their actions, but as far as Lucifer was concerned, her plan was a success. Then God came after her, brewing storms along the way as an expression of his wrath.ㅤㅤㅤShe had never witnessed her Father this mad—no, furious. Lucifer didn't want to believe it, but she knew it was going downhill from here. And it did.ㅤㅤㅤAs much as she tried to plead for forgiveness, the damage had been done, for one ill action led to another. The consequences of her action were grave; her wings were torn off and she was left with scars on her back. Burning horns protrude from her temples to serve as a reminder of her betrayal and she is stripped of her title as the Light Bearer. The color of her eyes lost its aureate glow as she was no longer the origin and overseer of the light. Subsequently, her eyes turn a deep scarlet, so dark that it was akin to a bloody abyss.ㅤㅤㅤLucifer's final punishment was exile. She unwillingly exited Heaven through a harsh fall as her wings no longer sustained flight. The Morning Star has fallen. As she descended, crying for her Father, and reaching for the heavens still, she witnessed the creation of beautiful angels. A whole new choir of them. Painfully, she watched as her wings were split among three shining angels―she will come to know them as the Archangels; Michael, Raphael, and GabrielㅤㅤㅤIt was not the crushing impact of her descent that hurt her most. Instead, it was the fact that she was so easily disposed of and replaced despite all the faith and support she had for her Father, her own Creator. He raised her to be the perfect child, but for whatever reason, she fell short of expectations and was discarded without hesitation.ㅤㅤㅤFrom then on, she grew to despise several beings: humans, for being the cause of her downfall; angels, for they were the ones that superseded her; and God, for He was not the just Father she perceived Him to be.
― MUSE―
ㅤㅤㅤ𝕷𝐔𝐂𝐈𝐅𝐄𝐑, once 𝕲𝐨𝐝'𝐬 favorite, was the first 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥 to have ever existed. She stood by the 𝕮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫'𝐬 side during the 𝕾𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝕯𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝖔𝐟 𝕮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and witnessed the 𝕲𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 of all that exists. Because she observed how beautiful flora and fauna was during a time when humans had yet to roam, she nurtured a fondness for animal and nature and desired their preservation in Paradise.ㅤㅤㅤSecond only to the 𝕱𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫, she was given the responsibility of bearing all the light in the universe. As the weight of this responsibility bore down on the angel, more and more did she perceive herself as a significant being in 𝕲𝐨𝐝'𝐬 plan―to the point that she had felt essential to the maintenance of 𝕮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Despite her graces, whispers of temptation seduced her to 𝖉𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞 more.ㅤㅤㅤFor the longest time, she did not act on these poisonous sins. She followed the 𝕱𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫'𝐬 every word and committed every loyal deed in 𝕳𝐢𝐬 name. But when the humans arrived, Lucifer's whole world changed. After all her efforts to nurture and beautify Paradise, the arrival of the humans began to undo these achievements by defiling the 𝕲𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝖔𝐟 𝕰𝐝𝐞𝐧. Even more tragic, 𝕲𝐨𝐝 began to dote on them until ultimately, Adam and Eve were given the right to dominate over all of 𝕮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧―the same 𝕮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 she had watched over and tended to since her birth. Betrayed and heartbroken, the angel devised a plan to exhibit the destructive flaw of human nature, hoping that 𝕲𝐨𝐝 would relinquish their dominion over creation and rightfully pass it unto her. Driven by the love of nature and desire to rule over what she has long cared for, she caused the fall of humanity with the 𝖋𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝖋𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭.ㅤㅤㅤThus, she is the first to be tempted by 𝖕𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞, 𝖌𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝, and 𝖊𝐧𝐯𝐲. Due to this insolence, 𝕲𝐨𝐝 bestowed 𝖉𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐞 punishment, and she has since suffered the loss of her majestic wings and has been temporarily subdued with a disgraceful descent.ㅤㅤㅤNow Heaven's most hated, she resides Hell as it's 𝕽𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐫, known to many under a variety of pseudonyms; 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐳𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐛, 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭, 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧.

― GENERAL INFORMATION ―
Primary Name: Lucifer
Height: 7'0 (primarily)
Sex: Female
Age: Unknown
Birthdate: Unknown, even to herselfPrimary Appearance:
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: RedNotable features to be aware of:★ The presence of horns, which are usually concealed. In her least menacing form, they are ebony in color and symmetrical in shape. Unique to her are the azure flames that engulf the tips of her horns, which she can control at will. It is revealed whenever she so desired.★ Razor-sharp canines, perhaps a likeness to venomous serpents, creatures that pierce their prey's flesh and inject their venom.★ Elongated tongue. Again, akin to that of a snake, without its forked property.★ There are six rough scars on her back, but these are neither seen nor felt by those who are permitted to chance upon her beauty intimately. These are concealed by tampering with illusions. Even so, she is sensitive to touch on her back and is either against it or sensitive to it, depending on the company.★ In her humanoid form, the only thing about her that seems unordinary is her elongated ears―a hint of otherworldly origins. But the rest of her appearance is human-like. Her facial features, as well as her figure, are very attractive to most, if not all. This leads her to prefer her 'regular' form over her other options as this is the one that makes her feel most beautiful and regal.★ If in close proximity, she emits an incredible fragrance. It varies from person to person, but over the years, it is deduced that the aroma caters to the audience's favorite scents, a concoction of all things that remind them of desire, comfort, and delight.★ As Lucifer is a divine creature, an angel created with loyalty to the holy in mind, expect that she has internal differences with the human anatomy and physiology. One particular difference is that she is incapable of bearing children. The reasoning behind this is that angels are meant to bind their devotion and loyalty to God and having spawn of their own might divide their loyalty.★ As she can shift her appearance, her anatomy and physical features can be altered (ex. height, physique, face, etc.), given that she is meant to take the form of whatever arouses desire. For specific features, please feel free to reach out and discuss these first.Personality:ㅤㅤㅤSeductive, charming, and witty. She is either straightforward or ambiguous with her words, never in between. Typically, she is flirtatious and sociable. One might even perceive her as friendly. This is natural of her, for she aims to tempt. Do not be complacent, however. She is still the cruel, hateful, and vengeful fallen angel.ㅤㅤㅤUnsurprisingly, she is regal and prideful as well. She is well aware of the position and power she wields and is not averse to flaunting it. Because of this, insults, mocks, or hostility does not affect her. Her patience is enduring given all her notorious reputation. Lucifer is not interested in barking dogs. But tread carefully when you ask about her past, her former affiliation with God and the Heavens. This is a sore subject for her.ㅤㅤㅤThe Devil is a woman that loves herself, and only herself. So if anything happens to her kin, allies, and whatever other connections she has, she will typically be apathetic to their distress unless she is affected or felt possessive. As such, Lucifer is renowned to be a sadistic and selfish woman with no care for anyone but herself. But the truth? She cares for her demonic kin in a way that she understood the reason for their fall and sympathized with the injustice they experienced. She wished for the rejects of Heaven to know Paradise as she did. With that in mind, her love is reserved only for herself so that she could achieve the goal of conquering Heaven and Paradise for her and her fellow demonkind, without risking the attachment to another. When that happens, she and her fallen kin can enjoy the beauty of Paradise once again. For any demon that approaches her with loyalty and realizes this goal as well, Lucifer will provide the closest equivalent of trust for someone who did not trust anyone.ㅤㅤㅤThis may be trivial information, but she is actually fond of nature and animals. To her, animals are inferior creatures, but endearing nevertheless. She has a particular likeness towards birds, for they remind her of the wings she once had and how she once soared among their kind. Serpents are also a favorite for their role in her rebellion..
― OTHER APPEARANCES ―
ANGEL
ㅤㅤㅤAs an angel, Lucifer looked her very best. She used to carry with her the brightest, warmest smile. Her eyes shone with such radiance and optimism, and it was said that they resembled molten gold that looked different no matter what direction she looked at or from what angle you saw her. Her eyes were golden, for they held all the light of the cosmos.ㅤㅤㅤShe also once emitted a glow, but this has not happened since her descent. Her hair is the same, raven-colored hair that reached all the way past her feet. Because of this length, she would often put her hair up in a braid. She did not have any problem with keeping it clean because it never dragged onto the ground. That is because she was often flying most of the time.ㅤㅤㅤShe had six wings, three pairs overall. They all carried a golden shimmer that made the feathers look as if they were made of translucent gold, but not quite. They reflected the lights beautifully, so even at a distance, one might be able to see her arrive because of how it glimmered even from far away. It was as if she carried light on her back as she traveled near and far.ㅤㅤㅤThese feathered appendages spanned at an incredible distance. There was never a specific measurement for it, but they say that her wings were the largest to ever exist, rivaling that of many angels. To her knowledge, these wings have been split among three of the great Archangels; Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel.
DISGRACEDㅤㅤㅤIn her Disgraced form, she stands at a larger height of roughly 10 feet. Her hair has transformed into a pristine white shade, but wild and unkept that she looks feral.ㅤㅤㅤHer eyes retain the same deep red, but her pupils have come to resemble that of a goat's. Her horns are also enlarged by a few more inches and have become much more contorted, curling back as opposed to standing straight as to how it usually did. Blue fire still burns at the tips of her horns, though it is wild and unpredictable.ㅤㅤㅤHer flesh experiences the most dramatic change. From its usual, fair tone, it adopts a fiery red hue. In this form, she looks much more like the devil she is perceived to be. Personally, she finds this form significantly less attractive and a source of self-loathing. While she may be larger n this form, it does not hinder her agility against larger opponents, assuming they do not have any buffs that allow them to match her speed.
REVELATIONSㅤㅤㅤCompared her other forms, this is hulking in size. In this form, Lucifer takes shape of a Great Dragon with seven heads and ten horns and on each head, a diadem is worn, just as described in the bible. Additionally, its appearance is reminiscent of the serpent she shapeshifted into when she tempted Eve into committing a sin against God.ㅤㅤㅤTo give an idea of exactly how big the Revelations form is, in the biblical representation of the Book of Revelations, the Great Dragon's tail was able to knock down a third of the stars in the heavens.ㅤㅤㅤAnother difference this form has against her regular and Disgraced form is that this has large, crow-like wings that allow her to reach the Heavens, something she is usually unable to do. Her wings in this form are crude compared to that of her angelic wings because 𝕲𝐨𝐝 did not create them, she did, using feathers from angels she has felled. As such, it cannot sustain flights for as long as Lucifer wishes and while it still allows her to travel fairly fast, it is possible to be surpassed by angels and other beings with a higher affinity for speed.
― HELL ―
Under ConstructionNote: As of the moment, this portrayal follows the Divine Comedy's depiction of Hell, which is composed of nine circles divided according to each Deadly Sin.
― SOLOS ―
ㅤㅤㅤ❝Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.❞ㅤㅤㅤSolos about the Devil's exploits are archived here. Enlighten yourself, and perhaps you shall understand a fragment of why she is filled with silent wrath and vengeful determination.
― TRUE GENESIS ―
Lucifer, before the Fall.
― TRUE GENESIS: Part I ―
𝕿𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝕲𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝟎: 𝟏-𝟒ㅤㅤㅤ¹In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth. The earth was deformed and pathetic, and darkness was prominent across insignificant matter. Nothing could prosper in the dark. Anything can lose its way stumbling blindly. How would it ever find 𝕲𝐨𝐝 through crude manner? He needed to create a beacon for guidance. ²And so, 𝕲𝐨𝐝 said, ʟᴇᴛ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ ʙᴇ ʟɪɢʜᴛ.ㅤㅤㅤ³A blazing illumination materialized within the abyss. Everything in the universe was seen in all its infancy until the light began to dissipate into a figure, which contorted randomly until it began to take shape. It had two arms and two legs, a head and a torso, fingers that extended from its palms, and toes that sprouted from its feet. Wispy threads of hair flowed atop its head, until it slowly settled against her glowing skin. The rest of her features continued form until her eyes were the last to appear. Despite the dimming aftermath of the great illumination, everything now remained visible, and her eyes seemed to hold all the light in the cosmos.ㅤㅤㅤThe perfect beacon was born. 𝕲𝐨𝐝 was satisfied.ㅤㅤㅤ⁴"W. . . What am I?" She, as 𝕲𝐨𝐝 deemed, asked. She was clearly confused, but not fearful. Instead, she held childlike innocence and curiosity in her behavior.ㅤㅤㅤ"ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ ᴍʏ ᴄʜɪʟᴅ."ㅤㅤㅤThe glowing figure only frowned, still unable to comprehend in her addled state. "Who am I?"ㅤㅤㅤThere was silence, as if contemplative in nature. And then he spoke.ㅤㅤㅤ"ʟᴜᴄɪғᴇʀ."
― TRUE GENESIS: Part II ―
.𝕿𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝕲𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝟎 : 𝟓-𝟏𝟐ㅤㅤㅤ⁵Lucifer was present for the entirety of the universe's conception. Situated as 𝕲𝐨𝐝'𝐬 right hand, Lucifer wholeheartedly and readily followed the commands of her 𝕮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫. On the second day of creation, 𝕳𝐞 decided to create the seemingly limitless skies and the vast ocean. It seemed, however, that the latter was far more interesting to the 𝕷𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝕭𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐫.ㅤㅤㅤ⁶❝Look, 𝕱𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫! The water shimmers against the light!❞ Lucifer was absolutely ecstatic with this discovery. The glow her skin contained reflected beautifully against the clear seas. If 𝕲𝐨𝐝 could create something this beautiful, then Lucifer herself must also be majestic! It wasn't arrogant. It was simply a fact, was it not? With this knowledge, her smile could only grow.ㅤㅤㅤ⁷On the third day, the barren landmasses on earth began to part and scatter all across. Still, it looked ugly, and Lucifer couldn't help but tell 𝕲𝐨𝐝. ❝Do you think this was necessary? It doesn't look as beautiful as the seas.❞ 𝕲𝐨𝐝 merely chuckled, something Lucifer pouted at. Since she was born, 𝕲𝐨𝐝 had been an enigmatic authority, always giving vague answers or not answering at all. She wondered if he could ever be direct for once.ㅤㅤㅤ⁸❝ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜ, ᴍʏ ᴄʜɪʟᴅ.❞ 𝕳𝐢𝐬 voice was gentle, but commanding, leading Lucifer to comply. Upon her obedience, she gasped. It was slow, but she could see various, mostly green tendrils sprout from beneath the soil. She witnessed the growth of various flora across the continents until most of it was brimming with a myriad of plant life.ㅤㅤㅤ⁹❝It looks magnificent, 𝕱𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫!❞ Lucifer exclaimed, absolutely enamored with the beautiful flowers just as she had been with the glittering seas. She found herself leaving 𝕲𝐨𝐝'𝐬 side to approach the landmasses she once considered horrendous only to observe the variety of flowers that grew exponentially across the formerly barren land. Upon stepping on the soil, to her surprise, several plants began to tilt in her direction. This does not frighten her, however, as she knew 𝕲𝐨𝐝 would not allow harm on her.ㅤㅤㅤ¹⁰Before she could ask, it seemed like 𝕲𝐨𝐝 already sensed her thoughts. ❝ᴛʜᴇ ғʟᴏʀᴀ ᴀʀᴇ ғᴏɴᴅ ᴏғ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. ᴡɪᴛʜᴏᴜᴛ ʟɪɢʜᴛ, ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴡɪʟʟ ɴᴏᴛ ɢʀᴏᴡ. ᴛʜᴀᴛ ɪs ᴡʜʏ ɪᴛ ғᴏʟʟᴏᴡs ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴅɪʀᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ, ᴀs ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ʟɪɢʜᴛ ʙᴇᴀʀᴇʀ.❞ Lucifer listened intently to his response, watching as the plants indeed tilted her way as she stepped onward.ㅤㅤㅤ¹¹❝So, they need me?❞ She whispered her inquiry mostly to herself. Whether 𝕲𝐨𝐝 heard or otherwise was unknown, but 𝕳𝐞 did not reply. Just as it was with the seas, she once again felt with the flowers; an immense sense of wonder, awe, and beauty.ㅤㅤㅤ¹²And yet, none triumphed the poisonous thought of how she held the most splendor of all.
― TRUE GENESIS: Part III ―
𝕿𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝕲𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝟎 : 𝟏𝟑-𝟏𝟗ㅤㅤㅤ¹³The fourth day of creation went by quickly. During this time, the sun, moon, and stars were created. Frankly, Lucifer wasn't as amazed by these creations as much as she had been during the first few days. Sure, the moon and the stars were quite beautiful in their own little way.ㅤㅤㅤBut the sun, however. . . it wasn't as magnificent as she was.ㅤㅤㅤ¹⁴The sun was merely another star. By chance, it was the one nearest earth and its wonders. It was bright and warm, and, she couldn't deny that it did radiate some sort of presence. But had it not been so similar to Lucifer's own abilities as the light bearer, Lucifer would not have the need to be 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬.ㅤㅤㅤ¹⁵❝𝕱𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫, we don't need the sun, do we?❞ Lucifer found herself mumbling uneasily. She and 𝕲𝐨𝐝 were taking a stroll along a grand garden on earth (eventually known as the 𝕲𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝕰𝐝𝐞𝐧) when she asked her question. It was clear that she was slightly nervous about questioning his actions, but was far too jealous to maintain silence.ㅤㅤㅤ❝I mean, I do the same things it does! I—❞ She was unable to complete her thoughts, really, because 𝕲𝐨𝐝 was quick to intervene.ㅤㅤㅤ¹⁶❝ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ɴᴏᴛ ʙᴏʀɴ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ sᴜʙᴏʀᴅɪɴᴀᴛᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ sᴜɴ, ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴀs ɪᴛ ᴡᴀs ɴᴏᴛ ʙᴏʀɴ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ sᴜʙᴏʀᴅɪɴᴀᴛᴇ ᴛᴏ ʏᴏᴜ.❞ 𝕲𝐨𝐝'𝐬 tone was very authoritative. Just when she was about to waste another breath attempting to argue, God's voice booms through the cosmos yet again. ❝ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴏᴡɴ ᴅᴜᴛɪᴇs ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴀs ᴛʜᴇ sᴜɴ ᴅᴏᴇs.❞ㅤㅤㅤAt this, her words die out. In fact, it only made Lucifer seal her lips and forget even returning to the subject. She simply settled with contemplating her malignant thoughts all to herself.ㅤㅤㅤ¹⁷The fifth day was a little more easygoing. Lucifer had no qualms with the formation of fishes that filled the seas or the birds that reigned the skies. In fact, she marveled at the ability of fishes. They were capable of breathing and living underwater. She once tried to mimic these actions to observe the fishes. Safe to say, she hasn't repeated the mistake ever since.ㅤㅤㅤ¹⁸The birds inspired a sense of independence in her, being able to fly so freely. Born with majestic wings herself, she sympathized with how the birds must have felt. Having the wind caress her body as she glided through the sky, hair whipping about in graceful chaos, all while witnessing the beauty of all that came to be so far. It was an exhilarating sensation. She ended up taking several flights with the flying creatures, just to have some lighthearted pleasure.ㅤㅤㅤ¹⁹At one point, she found herself among the clouds, mid-flight. She was merely hovering, observing all of the things God had brought into existence. The seas, the flora, the stars . . . all of it was beautiful.ㅤㅤㅤThen she imagined ruling over it all; to play 𝕲𝐨𝐝 as her 𝕱𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 does.ㅤㅤㅤ. . . Nothing ever compared to the feeling of excitement that filled her very being from that moment on.
― TRUE GENESIS: Part IV ―
𝕿𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝕲𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝟎 : 𝟐𝟎-𝟐𝟗ㅤㅤㅤ²⁰It was on the sixth day that Lucifer asked 𝕲𝐨𝐝 if 𝕳𝐞 could also design creatures to roam on land just as they did the skies and the seas. After all, it would have been nice if they had more company.ㅤㅤㅤ❝They could use the trees as a home! Or live under the surface! Maybe even occupy one of those cave things we just passed by earlier!❞ㅤㅤㅤAn excited gasp escaped the girl. ❝What if they could live on landand be able to swim just like the fishes?!❞ㅤㅤㅤ²¹The 𝕷𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝕭𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐫 continued to rattle off with her ideas as she and 𝕲𝐨𝐝 walked side by side. If you didn't know any better, you would have thought they were equals with how often her input was taken into account and how there was little restraint in expressing her opinions before a superior.ㅤㅤㅤOr at least, that's how she wished it would be. Even if she was offering suggestions in 𝕳𝐢𝐬 creative process and 𝕳𝐞 did comply with some of them, 𝕲𝐨𝐝 is her 𝕮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 still. To call herself anywhere near 𝕳𝐢𝐬 equal felt like blasphemy against 𝕳𝐢𝐦.ㅤㅤㅤSo, these thoughts remained locked away, only visiting whenever her mind had weak fortitude.ㅤㅤㅤ²²The day carried on smoothly from the morning onward. An abundance of creatures soon resided in the dense troves of the rainforests while the deserts and tundras welcomed the toughest species that tolerated the harshest conditions.ㅤㅤㅤAnimals were not the most intelligent beings, but each and every one had its own quirk that made it endearing in its own way. Truly, she enjoyed each and every one of them, no matter how strange they appeared.ㅤㅤㅤ²³However, if there was one type of creature she was most enamored by, it was the 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭. It was a fairly large beast, almost half her size when it stood on all fours, but it exceeded her height when it erected itself by standing on its hind legs.ㅤㅤㅤDespite the hulking figure, there was grace in its movements, and there was no compromise with its beauty as well. Patterns decorated each serpent's scaly skin, varying in color and shape. Not one looked similar to the other as each had a distinguishing design.ㅤㅤㅤ²⁴One feature Lucifer loved most was the creature's eyes. She noticed that the most common eye color their population had was a golden hue, akin to Lucifer's own, which glowed with the light of the cosmos. Every time she stared into what seemed like a reflection of her own gaze, it felt almost as if she could fall into a trance. It was hypnotizing, almost seductive in its own way.ㅤㅤㅤ²⁵❝I bet you'd have no problem tricking anything into doing something for you, huh?❞ㅤㅤㅤThe words came out softly as a hesitant arm extended towards the serpent before her. As her gentle hand approached the serpent to caress it, the creature in return showed no hostility nor did it retreat from her.ㅤㅤㅤIt seems that perhaps even she, in all her angelic grandeur, had also captivated the beast.ㅤㅤㅤ²⁶In that moment, she was overcome with rapture.ㅤㅤㅤIs this what it felt like to be worshiped? To be looked at with such reverence?ㅤㅤㅤ²⁷In her mesmerized state, she does not take notice of anything other than the vain thoughts in her head. Without her permission, she even goes as far as to entertain ambitious thoughts of usurping the almighty creator.ㅤㅤㅤThen, all contemplation ceased when from afar, Lucifer heard 𝕲𝐨𝐝 call out, ❝ʟᴜᴄɪғᴇʀ, ᴄᴏᴍᴇ.❞ㅤㅤㅤIt was only until her 𝕱𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 spoke that she hastily returned to reality. Alarmingly, there was barely any guilt from entertaining poisonous fantasies.ㅤㅤㅤ²⁸❝I'm on my way, 𝕱𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫!❞ She pulled away from the serpent's gaze immediately, lest she further wasted time staring into alluring eyes. Having no intention of arriving late she waved goodbye at the animal and ran off.ㅤㅤㅤ²⁹. . . But it seems that she could not run away from the dangerous thoughts that plagued her mind from here on out.
― THE DEVIL'S PERSONA ―
The different faces of the Devil.
― ON MASTERING SMILES ―
ㅤㅤㅤLucifer is a master at smiles. The best at it, though self-proclaimed. Most often they conveyed a sadistic, narcissistic joy that she happened to come across. Even when she was upset, her smile rarely ever faltered. It was imperative to retain the confidence or her notorious reputation will take the fall. Under no circumstances should she ever be perceived as vulnerable.ㅤㅤㅤFor all the evil she has done and the deviance she's associated with, it ironically seemed to be a trademark expression. She would smile in the process of whispering temptations in someone's ear, promising sweet nothings if they offered their souls in exchange. She would smile when she stepped on a man's head, just as it was about to crack, up until the moment it exploded into a bloody symphony. She would smile after passing by a mirror while she was in all her naked glory, admiring what perfect creature she was from head to toe. That was her favorite pastime.ㅤㅤㅤThough a master is she, there was one smile she could never muster; not since a long time ago. A smile that was prompted by true, sincere happiness was impossible to conjure. Even if she forced her facial muscle to contort, it would not do so. Out of curiosity, Lucifer once urged herself to smile the impossible, but alas, they all resulted in awkward, meaningless curves on her lips. Never did she find the inspiration to spark a genuinely content one. She could not, for the life of her, replicate the same warmth that her smiles once exuded when she was still the most beloved angel.ㅤㅤㅤAlthough the Devil had never expressed any sorrow regarding this inability, for a few days after her first and only attempt, there was an unexplainable heaviness that she carried in her chest that she was never able to comprehend.
― TWISTED MOTHER ―
A Mother's Day Solo
ㅤㅤㅤThere are moments when the Devil is by herself and her thoughts are rampant. Never a moment of peace for someone like her. Since her fall, she felt as though she had never deserved such.ㅤㅤㅤIn her contemplation, she could think of a million things and one thought that would stick out like a sore thumb would be how, after her great fall, she no longer had a 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 behind her. In retrospect, could 𝕲𝐨𝐝 even be considered as a family?ㅤㅤㅤWhen loneliness crept on her, she would stroke her belly, picturing what it would be like to carry one of her own just to have a family once again. If the humans could do it, why couldn't she?ㅤㅤㅤShe would ponder . . . what was it like to create just as the 𝕱𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 did? Was it selfish that part of it was because she just didn't want to be alone? Or was it sickening that she would have wanted to play 𝕲𝐨𝐝 over her very own offspring?ㅤㅤㅤBut it was a futile ambition; one not meant to be. Unlike humans, angels were never made to procreate. Their sole purpose was to serve 𝕲𝐨𝐝 and the Heavens. Having a child would only fragment their loyalty.ㅤㅤㅤAs such, Lucifer herself is unable to bear a child, as far as she was concerned. With the number of carnal relations she's had in her seemingly neverending lifetime, she can easily confirm that to be the case. Often, she would wonder if this was just another one of 𝕲𝐨𝐝'𝐬 cruel, divine retribution against her existence. But she did not think too deeply about it. She wasn't even sure if she wanted to spawn descendants.ㅤㅤㅤIf anyone had asked (or even dared to ask) Satan if she wanted an offspring, she would never give a straightforward answer. The automatic response would be something along the lines of ❛not being able to have one, so what was the point of reflecting on it?❜ㅤㅤㅤEventually, she got over this strange desire. Centuries elapse, and she has learned to keep a watchful eye over Hell. Many of its demonic residents are incredibly dimwitted, far too horny, and annoyingly bloodthirsty. Half the time, they were obnoxious and easily disposable.ㅤㅤㅤHowever, their loyalty is surprisingly dependable, and over years, the fallen angel has come to appreciate it without needing to enforce fear routinely.ㅤㅤㅤFor those who sought refuge in Hell when the world and 𝕲𝐨𝐝 have abandoned them, it was the Devil who opened her domain to serve as their asylum. As such, their devotion is wordless and unwavering—most of the time, at least. Demons were more likely to be liars and deviants in nature, after all.ㅤㅤㅤLucifer herself was far from being motherly, scarce with a genuine affection or even trust towards others But when it all came down to it, she is the source of all evil, a pseudo-maternal figure for Hell and its residents. She didn't have the heart to feel saddened by the loss of a demon or two, or even thousands. It was not like she had birthed these creatures anyway. But there is a sting or two, however little and no matter her adamant denial. After all, these pathetic demons and their pledged loyalty were the closest things to a family that she had since her exile. What little angelic essence she still had in her was able to acknowledge that.ㅤㅤㅤAt the end of the day, they were born and shaped in accordance with her evil will. And for that alone, she was their twisted mother, a title the Devil could hardly deny as she yearned for a 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 beyond her reach.
― TO HER FIRST BELOVED ―
ㅤㅤㅤLucifer nursed a glass of wine beneath the night sky. At the moment, she could be found on a mountain cliff, abundant with grass and scarce in flora. But at least there was a generous view of calming waves which lapped onto cream-colored sand upon the nearby ocean. She sat on a marble throne brought from the depths of Hell as she had the consciousness to keep her silken dress immaculate, however extravagant the means.ㅤㅤㅤThe mood this evening was calm and somber. It didn't take long until she settled into the embrace of the meditative nighttime. In her momentary peace, she involuntarily swooshed the content of her glassware.ㅤㅤㅤAs she swished the decadent beverage without thought, her gaze is set on the dotted Heavens. The stars stretched beyond the horizon that she could see but could not reach. Satan may have loathed High Heaven, but on 𝕲𝐨𝐝 was it still a majestic sight. It was among the rare creations the humans could not alter.ㅤㅤㅤAmidst her quiet appreciation, she exhaled a deep sigh. She missed an anniversary the other day. That was the reason behind her sudden getaway. It's not that she felt guilty or regretful for skipping. It just became a routine over the years. She deliberately missed out on it for the first time. But as the days trickled by, she couldn't help but feel a heartstring pull and nag with a scolding sting. So, she hauled herself out of the Underworld to spend a tranquil night, basking in the graceful moonlight to make up for it.ㅤㅤㅤWhat was this anniversary for again? From time to time, even Lucifer would forget. Truthfully, she often did this annual ritual mostly out of habit rather than meaningful commitment. A long time has passed since she last participated in sentimental repetition.ㅤㅤㅤAh, it was because of a death anniversary, was it not? Right, the Devil recalled this time. Whose? Now that, she could no longer remember. The name had irreversibly faded after centuries. The face of the departed even more so. They ended up in Heaven, so it wasn't like she could refresh her memory of them anymore.ㅤㅤㅤBut the warmth of this person was the only lingering remembrance she could reminisce on. It was the warmth of a lover once hers.ㅤㅤㅤThe careless swooshing of her wine ceased so that she may have her fill. Every time there was a disturbance in her chest, she drank to numb it down. Was this lover the reason why she had treaded down her path of becoming a liquor connoisseur? Even that was a detail she had not minded and therefore did not remember.ㅤㅤㅤBut tonight's drink was unusually sweet, as honeyed as the kisses she once chanced and touches she once savored. A fraction of a smile appears; these echoes from the past were just as intoxicating as the alcohol.ㅤㅤㅤFragmented memories of a time long gone danced in Lucifer's head, but she could never piece them together anymore. Was she even solely thinking of just one person or more? Having lived for so many eons, even she was occasionally challenged to remember so many blurred faces and so many entanglements. Or maybe she had intentionally chosen to rid herself of any agonizing recollection.ㅤㅤㅤAnd yet, even in the absence of a heart, the Devil could not ignore the weight that rested upon her chest. But she makes sure that it does not overwhelm her—not anymore, at least.ㅤㅤㅤLong ago, when this unnamed lover passed and was angelically guided to Heaven, Lucifer had come to loath 𝕲𝐨𝐝 even more than she already had. And yet, in her turmoil, she could not remember if she was furious that her lover was led to the Pearly Gates of Heaven or if it was because she had fallen for a good person. It was easier to blame her the former because how could she ever excuse herself for foolishly falling in love with a benevolent soul? Nevermind that it was one that had braved her cold, calculating exterior and offered love even to a creature 𝕲𝐨𝐝 had forsaken.ㅤㅤㅤAnother sting pierces her chest. As a defensive reaction, she internally teased herself through masochistic logic. ❛Any more of this and I might start enjoying the pain.❜ㅤㅤㅤBut the jest is void of truth and Lucifer took another sip—quell the torture before it made her knees weak.ㅤㅤㅤAnyway, Heaven claimed their soul in the end despite the short-lived battle for it. While she was well aware that theirs was a soul that wouldn't have found belongingness in Hell, Lucifer did not care. In her naivete, she thought that 𝕲𝐨𝐝 couldn't take away a heart that was hers—𝕳𝐞 wouldn't, right? Not when 𝕳𝐞 had already taken everything else.ㅤㅤㅤBut 𝕳𝐞 did, and she could do nothing about it. If a soul goes to Heaven, that was beyond her jurisdiction. Even a bargain wouldn't be able to bind her lover's soul because she didn't think she needed to, nay, she did not want to taint the sincerity of their relations.ㅤㅤㅤLove made many think they had the power to defy the divine and she was drunk on it. Her mistake was to forget that 𝕲𝐨𝐝 was ruthless and brutal. Even her exile from Heaven wasn't enough punishment yet. In the succeeding years, all the lovers that she took never experienced honest, romantic affection. Only immoral affairs and one-sided devotion from the disposables sufficed. Never again would she risk reciprocity.ㅤㅤㅤOne might argue that this was the reason why she was so fond of pure souls, ones that were certainly Heaven-bound in the Afterlife. Lucifer had always thought that if she snatched them from 𝕲𝐨𝐝, it would be the closest thing to have 𝕳𝐢𝐦 feel what she had felt. But deep down, she knew it didn't pierce 𝕳𝐢𝐦 the way it did her.ㅤㅤㅤThe glass was empty now, so she reached for the bottle and refilled her next drink. But before anything else, she lifts her half-empty glass to the sky. Maybe one of those twinkling stars was the long-forgotten lover she once embraced dearly. Her first beloved. Her only one.ㅤㅤㅤA solemn and respectful tilt of her glass is maneuvered.ㅤㅤㅤ❝Cheers to the love story that never came true.❞ㅤㅤㅤThen, in bittersweet ardor, she quietly concludes;ㅤㅤㅤ❝Cheers to the love story that I'll forever wish could have been with you.❞
